Application:
The CH12893 coolant temperature sensor is engineered specifically for Perkins four-cylinder turbocharged and naturally-aspirated engines, most notably the T4.236 and AT4.236 families (3.86 L / 236 in³) that power a broad range of agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, mobile generator sets and industrial machinery. In addition to the 4.236 series, the same sensor is fitted across the later 2506 and 2806 engine families used in heavier-duty agricultural and stationary power plant installations, giving it one of the widest coverage footprints in the Perkins diesel range.
Technical specifications:
The sensor body is machined from brass alloy for rapid thermal conductivity and long-term corrosion resistance. It carries a 1/8-27 NPT taper thread that seals directly into the cylinder head water jacket or thermostat housing without additional sealing washers.
Material & performance features:
The sensing element is a sintered bead-type thermistor encapsulated in a stainless-steel probe tip that is resistance-welded to the brass body, eliminating leakage paths. The probe tip is filled with high-purity aluminium oxide powder for vibration damping and thermal coupling. A high-fluoro elastomer grommet seals the wire exit and resists glycol-based coolants, oils and aggressive cleaning agents.
